The Youth Support and Development Service has recently undergone a major reorganisation and restructuring in order to offer a modern and effective service to young people living in the Borough. In addition, it is developing an Action Plan to clearly set out its aims and objectives. The Service has introduced a two team structure comprising the Borough Team, which includes the detached workers and linking with the voluntary sector, and the Inclusion Team, which is responsible for the Youth Forum, social skills programmes and accredited programmes for young people not in school.
The YSDS Action Plan is based on the Service Plan already agreed for the Boroughs Lifelong Learning Division, of which the YSDS is a component part. The key action plan priorities include a number of programmes, as well as priority groups that range from teenage mothers/ fathers to looked after young people to disaffected young people. |
